  Obesity vs. Smoking - which is worse?

  when i was going to the kingdumb hall people were being actively disfellowshipped for smoking because it was bad for you and an insult to jehovah.. how come nobody disfellowshipped the 400 pound sister who brought her own chair or stood in the back because she couldn't fit in her chair?.

  why didn't anyone disfellowship the bookstudy leader for looking pregnant when he obviously wasn't.. why is cigarette addiction bad but not food addiction.. just wondering?

  I saw 2 of them tonight at the Picadilly Pub.

  They looked like weebles and were drinking some lovely blueberry Wachusett Ale. - Guess they missed the meeting about alcohol.

  After they waddled off to a Cadilac with the license plate JAH.

  I'm just down the way from Zev a few miles in Massachusetts and the roads are a mess here and the plowers are out in lines of 5 and 10.

  We already have 4 inches in our backyard at least.

  I didn't run out and buy bread and milk like I usually do.....so that probably means that this storm is going to be a huge one!

  I did bring in a ton of firewood though!

  I wish you all warmth and no frozen pipes and that the road to the Dunkin Donuts is plowed!!!

  Why don't JW's Fast ????

  there are references in the bible to jesus fasting and prayfully meditating.. so my question then is why don't jehovahs witnesses as an organization ask their members to fast?.

  why don't you ever hear about fasting at the kh?.

  Wierdest / Worst thing you were asked to do?

  hey everyone!.

  what is the wierdest or worst thing you were ever asked to do while going to the hall?.

  here's my answer.. i had my son via c-section while the co was visiting.

  What is the wierdest or worst thing you were ever asked to do while going to the hall?

  Here's my answer.

  I had my son via c-section while the CO was visiting. We lived in a tiny 2 room apartment. One room was our bedroom that we shared with the baby. The other room was our kitchen/living/dining room. Each room was maybe 10 x 10 feet.

  The Elders thought it would be great if I could just whip up a nice Turkey Dinner and have the CO over and do a study.

  I answered that I was really tired still from surgery and being up nights with a baby who has its days and nights mixed up - plus the baby won't breastfeed.

  The answer was to spend some time praying to Jehovah and they were sure the right answer would come to me.

  It did too.

  I told them no way am I fixing dinner for someone else after just getting out the hospital and told them that they should fix dinner for me and my husband ! The next day one of the sisters brought me a full turkey dinner with everything and apologized on behalf of the elders.

  i dont know how i came across this forum but when i came to it i was so shocked of all the things being mentioned about the org.

  i became doubtful of the recent decision i had made ( the big dip, which i kinda felt pressure to do but that's another story) also hearing about how jw are a cult really opened my interest.

  so now that im openly informed ,im out in search of the truth behind the truth.

  Good to see your examining your beliefs without the aid of the watchtower study materials.

  You should run....not walk to the nearest book store and buy Ray Franz' book Crisis of Conscience.

  It's amazing and will open your eyes to the Truth about the Truth.

  When my son was born the sisters made sure I knew not to allow him to watch Teletubbies because the purple one (tinky winky) was gay and had a magic bag or Barney the magical dinosaur.

  You don't want those demons popping out of the television at you and forcing you to dance gleefully to tuba music!!!

  AAAAAHHHH!

  We also watch sponge bob with our oldest......its sofa king funny.

  Pioneer Takes Baby Out In Zero Wind Chill

  on my way to work in our city's downtown area i regularly see a pioneer walking up and down the street, holding up his magazines.

  I had to respond to this because it's 6 degrees here today.

  My husband and sister in laws tell me stories about going out in service on snow days. It seems it was expected if you weren't in school then you would go out in service.

  I can't even imagine it.

  I almost froze this morning pumping gas!

  while listening to conversations between my daughter and my wife recently, i am hearing my j.w.

  bible study daughter ask her mom ...."how come you are always lying to me"?.

  which is very strange, because my wife, being a devote catholic, would never lie, intentionally.

  My husband was raised a JW and has tooooooo many sisters.

  They always say " Remember when" it comes right before talking about something my husband did as a kid like borrowing $2 and never paying it back or stealing gum.

  I'm just thinking get the frig over it!

  So maybe it's a jw thing because they were all raised jw's.

  Record every wrong doing to be used against the person at a later date. Sounds like the watchtower to me!
